Let the Party Begin!

In 2006 the Carmel Chamber of Commerce honored the local business community at the annual Green Ribbon of Excellence Awards, this year in the new conservatory at Stonepine Estate in Carmel Valley. Thompson Lange and Jennifer Kriste, not realizing how much work they were getting themselves in to, chaired the event and Homescapes' own Edward Chiorazzi outdid himself with incredible table decorations that were auctioned off at the end of the evening. Homescapes was nominated again for Best Retail, a category we won in 2004 (and lost in 2002), and we repeated ourselves...unfortunately by losing again, not winning again. Being good sports, we politely applauded as Carmel Plaza walked away with the prize. Of course, not only did they deserve it for their beautiful renovation, but considering that they also won Business of the Year, it was "nice" to know we never stood a chance. We'd have voted for them ourselves...if we hadn't been nominated. No need to make it unanimous.
