lesley Ann Spowart is using photography as a method of exploring painting. What's most interesting about this work is that it comments on the idea of reality in its own terms: what is reality, and what happens when we merge what is "real" and "imaginary?" Lesley has used her imagination and style to create worlds that we can't be sure exist. At times, the photograph is seamlessly embedded; other times she allows it to rest its edges, nestled between how she saw it and how she sees it.
