03/24/05 the dog is safe & sound in the studio. I've been working on him for two days now and he's about 1/4 done. I thought I was taking an easy route, but apparantly I was mistaken. Justin (pictured behind) is also working on a dog, and Thompson has decided to work on one as well, so a full studio of dogs and their friends is happening as we speak. |

here are some details of the dog. I've used a sacred,
secret solution to make transfers onto most surfaces. for this dog, I've
transferred text. |
After I was finished transferring the text, I gave
it a soft wax coating. |
After the soft wax coating, I went
over it with hard Encaustic waxes, adding slight variances of color in
the "pressure points" of the dog (belly, inside hind legs, etc).
|
After the hard waxes were applied and burnished,
I added a red runner to give more color without having to use more wax
(I didn't want it to be overly colorful, just hint, and I was finding
the waxes to be a little heavy in both color and texture) |

state. |

of the wall it is sitting in front of). |
