In June 1996, brothers Beau and Thompson Lange opened a garden shop in a gazebo in Pacific Grove made from reclaimed wood and windows salvaged from the historic laundry they were remodeling next door. The Grove Homescapes opened several months later in December of 1996 and became a local favorite, over time transitioning from a plant and flower shop with home accents into a home accents store with plants and flowers. In 1999, Beau and Thompson built upon the success of The Grove and opened Homescapes Carmel, their award-winning furniture store in Carmel by the Sea.
As a compliment to their downtown showroom, on May 15th, 2009 the brothers returned to their roots and opened Homescapes Home & Garden at the Barnyard in Carmel. Working with Robin Stockwell, owner of Succulent Gardens, Thompson and Beau transformed the garden shop into an outlet for garden and patio furniture and furnishings, still offering the succulents from Robin’s Succulent Gardens Nursery in Castroville while adding the orchids, plants, pots and furnishings for which Homescapes has become known.
